Intelligence Testing
Intelligence tests measure a student’s overall learning potential. Intelligence testing is the estimation of a student’s current intellectual functioning through the performance of various tasks designed to measure different types of reasoning. Components of typical intellectual evaluations include verbal concepts formation, non-verbal reasoning, and working memory. Two main forms of intelligence are involved in most intelligence assessments:
- Verbal Intelligence is the ability to comprehend and solve language-based problems; and
- Nonverbal Intelligence is the ability to understand and solve visual and spatial problems.
