Comprehensive Assessment

A comprehensive assessment consists of the administration and interpretation of a battery of tests.  The tests usually consist of educationally related psychological tests, including tests of intelligence and cognitive abilities, achievement tests, and checklists regarding behavior and attention.  Results obtained from a comprehensive assessment aid in identifying cognitive strengths and weaknesses.  Testing can also yield information to help confirm or disconfirm educational deficits, such as developmental delays and/or learning disabilities.  Testing can also provide information helpful in determining intellectual giftedness.  Parents or guardians are also furnished with a comprehensive written report that provides a summary and/or recommendations.
